Southampton Marine Services Ltd was established in 2004 and specialises in ship / work boat building, vessel repair and marine engineering; we trade in four markets - Commercial Marine, Defence, Superyachts and work boats / floating structures.

The company is Headquartered at Western Avenue in Southampton, at the centre of ABP Southampton's port facility. The site provides the company with a manufacturing workshop and machine shop, providing easy access for repairs and surveys for all port users. The SMS Group aims to provide the marine and construction industries with reliable service, outstanding quality and the highest standards of work.

The SMS Group began 2018 with a period of significant expansion, acquiring a dry-dock and marine / machine workshops business in Lowestoft. Coupled with the addition of marine workshops in Poole, Avonmouth, Portsmouth, Devonport and Dover to compliment the existing facilities at Southampton and the dry-dock at Shoreham.  The SMS Group thereafter became the largest independent ship repair business in the UK; 8 owned locations (adding Glasgow in 2020) providing 24/7/365 support.

The SMS family is made up of qualified professionals and highly skilled tradespeople who collaborate on projects large and small. It ranges from naval architects and engineers to carpenters and apprentices that together work with the guiding principles of personalisation and a can-do attitude.  We put the customer first.
