The Sparkle Foundation UK: Turning Compassion into Action
The Sparkle Foundation UK is a grassroots, volunteer-led charity dedicated to providing a lifeline for those facing life's most difficult challenges. Operating with heart and without judgement, the foundation supports individuals navigating poverty, domestic abuse, bereavement, and sudden crisis.
Our Mission: Mental Health & Wellbeing
We believe that no one should have to face a mental health crisis alone. The Sparkle Foundation UK is proud to offer Mukti award-winning mental health and wellbeing services, including:
•	Suicide Prevention & Crisis Support: Dedicated pathways for those in immediate need.
•	Free Therapy Sessions: Professional counselling and support groups for those with nowhere else to turn.
•	Weekly Support Groups: Safe spaces to process emotions, build resilience, and find community.
Steve’s Legacy: Breaking the Stigma
A core pillar of our work is Steve’s Legacy, a men’s mental health support group founded by our Chair, Leigh Yates, in memory of her former husband and best friend, Steve.
Steve was a "legend" to those who knew him, but like many men, he struggled in silence and tragically lost his life to suicide in 2022. Steve’s Legacy was created to ensure other men have a safe, informal environment—often meeting in local community spaces like rugby clubs—to talk openly with therapists and peers. It is a movement dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding male mental health and saving lives through conversation. Sparkle supports families and people who have been bereaved by suicide.
Powered by Volunteers and Trustees with lived experience
We are a charity built on the dedication of our community. The Sparkle Foundation UK is run entirely by volunteers and volunteer trustees who receive no remuneration. From delivering food parcels and essential items to facilitating life-saving therapy, our team is on the ground helping.
