The Springfield Centre is a UK-based advisory, training, and research firm specialising in inclusive economic development. We don’t fit neatly into conventional development categories - we’re a think-teach-and-do tank. Our work is deeply technical, delivered by expert staff, and guided by a clear worldview that shapes everything we do.
We believe development should be transformative. Our mission is to improve the systems that enable disadvantaged people to access the goods, services, jobs, and incomes they need to thrive - without long-term reliance on development assistance. This is the essence of sustainable impact, and it unites all our work.
Since 1995, we’ve helped shape thinking and practice in enterprise promotion and market systems development across five continents. In 2019, we became part of Swisscontact, enhancing our reach and resources. Our clients include leading donors, multilateral organisations, private foundations, and NGOs.
We offer strategic advisory services, rigorous analysis, and capacity-building support. Our flagship Market Systems Development (MSD) training programme has equipped over 2,000 professionals worldwide. Whether designing programmes, evaluating impact, or mentoring teams, we bring clarity, depth, and a commitment to lasting change.
