The Stepladder Foundation was started in 2000, by CEO, Alison Jones. A former teacher, Alison observed a huge pool of unrecognised BAME talent drifting or fighting through the system and leaving with results that were not reflective of their great capabilities. Determined to make a change, she founded The Stepladder Foundation. 

Our flagship provision is a tailor-made programme, to challenge and support BAME young people aged between 14 and 16, with further sessions for other ages and stages . Participants gain tools to develop mindsets of aspiration and achievement through engaging seminars, one-on-one mentoring sessions, pastoral care, academic assistance and inspirational experiences and workshops with leaders of industry. Each programme is designed to serve the individual needs of every student so no two are alike.

Our offerings also include:
•	In-school 'motivation' events
•	Parent guidance - advising parents and carers on how best to support young people through their education journey
•	Teacher and Educator support - customised programmes helping aiding educational professionals to get the most out of their students
•	1-1 mentoring, dealing with both pastoral and practical issues, stress management and career planning
•	Partnership with employers, helping them to support BAME talent 'in company' and 'pre employment.'
