Mark Albin

Network Operations Specialist at The Switch

Mark Albin has a long and diverse work experience in the media industry. Mark began their career as a CBS Page in 1979 and worked as a Videotape Air Coordinator before moving on to work as a Studio Field Camera Operator at CNN. Mark also worked as a Driver-Technician Ku Band Transportable Uplink at Calhoun Satellite Communications, Inc. In 1984, they joined NBCUniversal Media, LLC, where they worked as a Network Traffic and Distribution Coordinator, Transmission Engineer, and Technical Operations Specialist. During their time at NBC, they played a crucial role in the distribution of NBC and Telemundo networks, including handling technical equipment issues on-site at 220 affiliates and 11 O&O stations. Mark also contributed to network disaster recovery drills and ensured the satellite delivery of the Today Show during an electrical fire. In 2017, they joined Disney ABC Television Group as an ABC Broadcast Facilities, Network Distribution, and News Acquisition Coordinator, where they worked until 2021. Currently, they are working as a Network Operations Specialist at The Switch since 2022.

Mark Albin has a solid educational background in the field of broadcasting and communications. Mark completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Radio and Television Communications at Brooklyn College from 1978 to 1982. Mark then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Broadcast Production and Management from the same institution from 1993 to 1996. In addition to their formal education, Mark also holds a certification as an FCC Radio Station Operators Permit, which they obtained from the Federal Communications Commission in September 1992.
