The Unusual is Brussels’ most unique third place — a specialty coffee bar, Belgian hot chocolate destination, bar, and events venue located in the heart of the city, just a short walk from Brussels Central Station and Grand Place.

Built around the idea of creating a space that feels welcoming, creative, and different, The Unusual brings together quality drinks, fresh pastries, and memorable experiences in one vibrant location. By day, guests can enjoy specialty coffee made with carefully selected Wide Awake Coffee blends, matcha, chai, Belgian hot chocolate, fresh pastries, bagels, cookies, and other café favourites. By evening, The Unusual also becomes a social bar space for drinks, cocktails, and events.

The hot chocolate concept is one of the café’s signature experiences, made with real Belgian chocolate and allowing guests to choose from different chocolate types, toppings, and creative seasonal specials. The venue is also laptop-friendly during weekdays, dog-friendly, and designed as a comfortable place for students, remote workers, locals, tourists, and groups.

Beyond the café, The Unusual also hosts private events, birthdays, corporate gatherings, beer experiences, tipsy tours, and other social activities, making it more than just a café — it is a place to meet, work, celebrate, and discover Brussels in an unusual way.

The Unusual — your third place in Brussels for coffee, hot chocolate, drinks, events, and more.
