I spent 20 years in environments where bad teammates don’t just hurt morale. They get people hurt.
Military. Martial arts. Film sets. Every single one of those worlds runs on one thing: the ability to show up for the people next to you.
Not leadership. Teamwork.
Here’s what nobody talks about: we’ve built entire industries around developing better leaders. Nobody’s built a real framework for developing better teammates. And the data makes the cost of that gap impossible to ignore.
$8.8 trillion lost globally to disengagement every year. The number one reason people quit isn’t pay - it’s a toxic environment. 54% of employees are more likely to leave when they work with one toxic teammate.
Nobody’s leaving because of bad leaders. They’re leaving because of bad teammates.
That’s the problem I built The Useful Mindset to solve.
I’m a keynote speaker, Marine Corps veteran, and working stunt performer in film and TV. My keynote - Improve the Room - gives teams a five-step framework called ROOMS for becoming the most useful person in any room they walk into. Not the loudest. Not the smartest. The most useful.
The daily question at the center of everything: Am I improving this room right now?
If yes - keep going. If no - you know what to do.
I speak to corporate teams, HR leaders, conference audiences, and veteran organizations. Available for keynotes, conference sessions, and team workshops.
Let’s connect.
