John Sutton

CEO at The Wine Group

John Sutton is the current CFO at The Wine Group. John has previously worked as an attorney at both K&L Gates and Howard Rice. From 1994 to 1997, they served as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff at The White House.

Sutton has extensive experience in counseling clients in various legal areas, such as entity formation and dissolution, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, securities, finance, real estate, intellectual property, and labor and employment. John has also negotiated numerous business formation documents, stock option plans, commercial agreements, employment agreements, debt and equity offering documents, stock/asset purchase agreements, license agreements, partnership agreements, and loan documents.

In addition to their work as an attorney, Sutton also served on the management committee at Howard Rice. In this role, they advised and represented clients in connection with transactions involving publicly and privately held companies, including venture capital, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, sales, licensing and distribution arrangements, corporate reorganizations, secured financing, and corporate finance.

John Sutton has a JD/MBA from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Pennsylvania.

John Sutton reports to Cate Hardy, CEO. John Sutton works with Brott Ritzel - COO, Keith Bauman - Chief Legal & Human Resources Officer, and Jim Evans - Chief Sales Officer.
