The Wren Bakery works with women in Leeds who face multiple barriers every day. Experiences such as addiction, poverty, gender based violence, criminal records and poor mental health have a devastating impact on these womens' lives and ability to work, preventing them from enjoying the financial and psychological benefits of employment.

The Wren Bakery believes in second chances and sees the potential in every one of these women. Through weekly wellbeing work and practical training in baking, barista skills and customer service in our beautiful café, we aim to empower and equip the women with the tools to build their own, different future.

We work intensively with small cohorts of trainees for up to two years, to account for the inevitable ebbs and flows of life and enable the most transformational impact.
