James Coyne is an experienced journalist with a focus on sports writing, currently serving as the Deputy Editor at The Cricketer since May 2016 after previously holding the title of Assistant Editor. Prior to this, James was an Assistant Editor for Wisden Cricketers' Almanack at Bloomsbury Publishing from September 2010 to October 2015, where responsibilities included writing, researching, and editing for the prestigious sports book, along with co-editing the Cricket Round the World section on a freelance basis. James began a career in journalism at PA Media from January 2008 to September 2010, covering a variety of sports events including football and rugby, and served as a hockey correspondent leading up to the London 2012 Olympics. The journey in journalism commenced as a Junior Reporter at Bedfordshire On Sunday from August 1999 to August 2003. James is qualified with an NCTJ Certificate in Newspaper Journalism from noSWeat Journalism Training College and holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours in History from the University of Nottingham.
