Craig Roberts is a highly experienced sports medicine professional currently serving as the Head of Performance Medicine at Chelsea Football Club since June 2024. In addition, Craig holds the position of External Sports Medicine Consultant for The Football Association since January 2021 and has been a part-time bank team doctor for the FA. Craig previously worked as the Head of Sports Medicine at AFC Bournemouth from November 2015 to December 2023 and served as the Sports Physician and Team Doctor for the Springboks from February 2008 to November 2015, where roles included Director of the Prime Human Performance Institute and the Elite Athlete Development Program. Craig also has experience as the Team Physician for the Sharks Rugby Team from January 2000 to December 2010. Academically, Craig holds an MSc in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from Bournemouth University and a medical degree (MBChB) along with an MPhil in Sports Medicine from the University of Cape Town.
