David Newton has extensive experience in football governance and financial regulation, currently serving as Head of Player Status and Competitions and Head of Football Integrity at The Football Association since May 2007. In these roles, David is responsible for managing and regulating registered intermediaries, overseeing betting-related integrity and anti-corruption matters, addressing third-party ownership in players, and handling various finance and governance issues within the sport. Prior to this, David worked as a Financial Regulation Manager at Whitbread and as an Operational Auditor and Audit Supervisor at EY. David earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Birmingham between 1989 and 1992.
