Emma Coates is an experienced football coach and educator with a strong background in women's football. Coates held various prominent roles at The Football Association from September 2017 to May 2023, including Womens National Head Coach for both U23 and U18-U19 levels, as well as serving as an FA Affiliate Tutor for the UEFA B course. Previous experience includes managerial and coaching positions at Doncaster Rovers Belles Ladies F.C. and Leeds United Football Club, along with a role as Head of Womens Football & Futsal at Leeds Beckett University. Coates began career as a Project Officer at The Football Association, focusing on youth development through the FA Skills program. Educationally, Coates holds a BA in Sport, Leisure & Culture with a specialization in Sport Sociology from Leeds Beckett University.
