Ian James is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in engineering and coaching. Ian James served as a Retired Engineering Associate Fellow from Rolls-Royce Engine Control Systems until September 2020 and has been actively involved with The Football Association as a Level 1 Tutor and Club Mentor since January 2014. Ian James is the Chair of both the Propulsion Division and the E36 Technical Committee at SAE International and has been a Lead Coach for U7 at Birmingham City FC since May 2010. Prior to retirement, Ian James held various positions at Aero Engine Controls, including Technical Manager and Chief of Electronics & Software Technology, and contributed to the coaching sector with roles at Aston Villa Football Club and Coerver Coaching. Ian James began a professional journey after completing education at St Peters RC Secondary.
