Lewis Sandoe

Lewis Sandoe is an accomplished engineering professional and football referee with extensive experience in leadership and technical roles. Currently serving as the Senior Engineering Manager for People Development at BAE Systems Maritime – Submarines since January 2024, Lewis also officiates at the national level for The Football Association, with aspirations to advance within English football. Previously, from June 2018 to January 2024, Lewis held multiple positions in the British Army, culminating as the Officer Commanding Light Aid Detachment, where responsibilities included providing expert engineering advice and leading over 60 engineers. Earlier roles included Company Second in Command and Platoon Commander, managing teams of up to 140 soldiers. Lewis began a robust engineering career as a Computer Numerical Control Programmer at Lymington Precision Engineers Co. Limited and holds an MSc in Engineering Management from the University of Portsmouth, along with foundational degrees in Mechanical Engineering Design from Bournemouth University.
