Matthew George

Matthew George serves as the England Para Teams Goalkeeping Coach at The Football Association since September 2022, focusing on coaching sessions and performance analysis. Additionally, Matthew has held roles as the FA National Goalkeeping Coach Developer, delivering courses and mentoring new coaches. Experience includes serving as an Academy Education Tutor at Sheffield United Football Club, planning and assessing BTEC scholars, and as an Academy Goalkeeping Coach at Rotherham United Football Club, developing goalkeeping talent. Previous positions include First Team Goalkeeping Coach at Farsley Celtic Football Club and England Schoolboys u18 Goalkeeping Coach, where involvement included scouting and training. Matthew’s background also features extensive experience in coaching education at The Football Association and Truro and Penwith College, alongside a degree in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching from Plymouth Marjon University.
