Tom Lishman

Tom Lishman is an experienced sport psychologist currently serving at Newcastle Eagles since September 2021 for both men's and women's teams, and at Durham City Aquatics since June 2024. Additionally, Tom Lishman runs a private practice, Tom Lishman Sport Psychology, which began in March 2022. An associate lecturer at Northumbria University since January 2020, Tom also has a longstanding role as a referee with The Football Association since September 2013. Previous roles include sport psychologist for Sunderland AFC and Newcastle Thunder, as well as positions related to sports psychology assistance and football activation. Tom Lishman holds multiple degrees, including a PhD from Ulster University, with a focus on performance psychology and mental health support for sports officials, alongside qualifications in sport and exercise psychology from The British Psychological Society and a master's in sports and exercise psychology.
