Haniyah P. is an experienced lifestyle writer currently contributing at theGrio and serving as a Next Gem Femme Mentee at Femme It Forward. Haniyah previously worked as an NABJ Editorial Fellow at Microsoft, where efforts focused on storytelling related to community impact through Microsoft resources. Additional experience includes roles as a Leadership & Communities Editorial Intern and Freelance Editor for Forbes, where Haniyah edited the 2022 30 Under 30 Media List and reported on significant leadership stories. Haniyah also held editorial positions at Femme Noire Magazine, managing teams and overseeing content, and served in various roles in social media management and reporting with organizations like Renegade Magazine and the Syracuse University National Association of Black Journalists. Haniyah holds a Bachelor of Science in Magazine, News & Digital Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Syracuse University and is pursuing a Master of Science in Strategic Communications at Columbia University.
