Matthew Hayman

Head of Site Operations at Theolytics

Matthew Hayman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matthew is currently the Head of Site Operations at Theolytics, where they previously served as the Facilities Manager and Laboratory Manager. Prior to that, they worked as a Scientist at Western Diagnostic Pathology. Matthew also spent several years at Canterbury District Health Board, where they held the position of Service Manager, Specialist Laboratories, responsible for managing a team that performed over 400,000 pathology tests annually. Matthew began their career as a Scientific Officer at the same organization. Additionally, Matthew has worked as a Biomedical Scientist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust and held a Visiting Fellow position at University College London. Matthew completed their Senior Research Associate role at Durham University, where they conducted research on neural differentiation in mammalian stem cells and investigated the regulatory role of transcription factors on neural peptides and proteins expression. Matthew also studied the growth of human stem cells and neurons on biopolymers.

Matthew Hayman completed their education in a chronological order. Matthew began their academic journey in 1988 at Dartford Grammar School for Boys, where they obtained A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and General Studies, along with nine GCSEs. Following this, they attended Durham University from 1995 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Matthew then continued their studies at Durham University, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from 1998 to 2002.
