Celestine Compton has a diverse work experience. Celestine started their career as a Librarian at Highland Park Public Library in 2009. In the same year, they also worked as a Photographer and Journalist at The Mirror until 2013.
In 2011, Celestine joined Internet Archive as a Digital Archivist and later became a Cataloguer and Project Manager. Celestine handled the communication between clients and digital archivists and oversaw the archival process for prestigious clients such as the Museum of Modern Art and Yale University. Their tenure at Internet Archive ended in 2013.
Moving on, Celestine worked as a Physical Therapist at Ochsner Health System from 2017 to 2018. Celestine then joined Bebé PT as a Physical Therapist in 2018 and continued until 2019.
Most recently, Celestine has been employed at Origin since 2019. Celestine has held various roles including Clinical Director of Virtual Care and Clinical Content Lead. As the Clinical Director, they led a team of physical therapists, provided training for virtual care, and ensured the effectiveness of virtual therapy. Currently, they work as a Physical Therapist at Origin, providing in-person and online care for women with pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy and postpartum related issues, as well as women's health and orthopedic conditions. Celestine is certified in women's health therapy by the APTA.
Celestine Compton completed their education with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, which they pursued from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, with a focus on Photography, from Montclair State University between 2004 and 2009. Additionally, they earned a High School Diploma from Belleville High School in 2003. Celestine Compton also holds a certification in Women's Health Physical Therapy, being Board-Certified as a Clinical Specialist in this field by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in July 2021.
