Daniel New has over 10 years of professional work experience. Daniel began their career in 2004 as the Owner/Head Instructor of New's Bushi-Kai Martial Arts. In 2005, they became a Phlebotomist at Henry County Hospital, where they collected venous and arterial blood, prepared plates for microbiology analysis, and maintained patient privacy. In 2009, they worked as a Researcher at IUPUI, where they performed Alzheimer's beta-amyloid protein research with Dr. Horia Petrache and assisted on nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. In 2010, they became a Program Coordinator/Biologist at Advanced Testing Laboratory, where they managed the Research Biological Donation Program and developed collection protocols for Lilly scientists. In 2011, they began working at AIT Laboratories as a Client Services Representative and Senior Client Services Representative, where they monitored the Client Relations Management (CRM) tool and produced reports that mapped the workflow. In 2012, they became a Scientific Recruiter at Kelly Services, where they placed qualified candidates in great positions with leading scientific companies. In 2013, they became a Corporate Recruiter at Maetrics, LLC, a leading consulting firm in the life sciences/medical device industry. Finally, in 2014, they became a Contract Recruiter at Theoris, a full lifecycle Engineering & IT professional services and software firm.

Daniel New began their educational journey in 2002 when they graduated from Tri Jr. Sr. High School. Daniel then attended Ball State University from 2004 to 2006, graduating with an Associates in General Arts. After that, they attended Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from 2007 to 2009, earning a Bachelors in General Studies-Math and Science Focus.
