James Edward Murray

James Edward Murray has a diverse professional background, beginning with their role as an Analyst in the 2010 Finance Analyst Program at Morgan Stanley, where they were hired out of college despite having no finance or accounting experience. James Edward then worked as an Associate in Treasury Capital Markets Controllers and Global Wealth Management Finance at Morgan Stanley, followed by a role as a Customer Success Manager at PubMatic. In 2016, they were an MBA Intern in Strategy and Business Development at Time Inc. and then went on to become the Co-Founder and CEO of NewsCart, a news aggregation platform. In 2018, they joined InVision as an Enterprise Salesperson and then in 2019, they became the Digital News Partnerships Lead at Facebook. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Co-Founder and CEO of Therify, a company that provides companies with inclusive mental health resources to improve employee well-being and belonging.

James Edward Murray completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Journalism from Howard University. James Edward then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management. James Edward is currently enrolled in the Summer 2021 program at Y Combinator and previously attended Pingree School.
