Fiona Strout is a fourth-year Biological Sciences student at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a major in biological sciences (pre-med) along with minors in chemistry and Hispanic language & culture. They are currently a research assistant in Dr. Amanda Poholek's lab at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, exploring how environmental factors affect T cell differentiation in various diseases. Fiona previously interned in Dr. Kathryn Moore's lab at NYU Langone, focusing on cardiovascular disease research, and has served as an undergraduate teaching assistant in general chemistry at their university. Committed to community service, they hold the position of Vice President of Academic Excellence for their sorority and volunteer to support underserved Latinx students in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
