John Armstrong

John Armstrong is an independent advisor with a focus on the financial services industry and serves as a Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute. John retired as National Industry Lead for Financial Services at KPMG Canada in September 2022, where they oversaw substantial revenue growth and contributed to global leadership teams in financial services. With over thirty years of experience advising both Canadian and global financial institutions, John's expertise spans enterprise strategy, cost transformation, and technology implementation. They earned an MBA from Harvard University with High Distinction and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto. Currently, John is involved with various advisory roles and serves on the boards of multiple organizations.
