Deepak Kumar

Deepak Kumar is the Executive Director and Country Head – India for Thiess, Australia’s largest mining services provider, with over 28 years of leadership in the global mining industry across India, Indonesia, and Australia. They possess expertise in large-scale mining operations, mine planning, and contract management, as well as a strong network with policymakers and industry leaders. Deepak’s past roles include significant positions at Tata Steel, Essar Projects, and The AES Corporation, where they excelled in mine development and business strategy. Deepak has also pursued advanced studies, earning a Master in Business Law from the National Law School of India University and an Executive Programme in Business Management from IIM Calcutta.
