Sam Jones is a highly experienced mining engineer with a professional background spanning over a decade. Currently serving as Group Manager for Mine Engineering at Thiess since its inception in 2015, following the merger of John Holland's mining business unit into Leighton, Sam has held various positions including Principal Mining Engineer and Senior Engineer. Prior experience includes serving as Mine Planning Superintendent at John Holland and holding senior engineering roles at BHP and Curragh Mine. Sam holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Engineering from The University of Queensland, attained between 2003 and 2006.
