Eileen Murphy has a long and varied work experience. Eileen began their career in 1998 as a Program Associate at Facing History and Ourselves. Eileen then moved on to Walter Payton College Preparatory High School, where they served as English Department Chair and English Teacher from 2000 to 2008. During this time, they also worked as an Educational Consultant/Curriculum Developer. In 2010, they became Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Autonomous Schools Office at Chicago Public Schools. Eileen held this role until 2012, when they founded and became CEO, Chief Learning Officer, and Chief Executive Officer of ThinkCERCA. In 2017, they became an Industry Advisor at Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC, an Advisor at TAL Education Group, and a Member of the Digital Advisory Network at Pearson. In 2019, they joined the Advisory Council of Women Tech Founders, and in 2022, they became a Blue Ribbon Corporate Advisory Board Member at the Council of the Great City Schools.

Eileen Murphy holds a Master of Arts degree in Writing from DePaul University, which they obtained from 1993 to 1996. Eileen also attended the University of Illinois Chicago from 1988 to 1993. In addition, they have obtained certifications from the ASU GSV Summit in April 2016, the Illinois State Board of Education in February 2004 for a General Administrative Certificate, and the Illinois State Board of Education in July 2002 for an Illinois Type 09.
