Brent Ashley has a diverse range of work experience. Before their time at AshleyIT and Arctiq, Brent held the role of Vice President of Infrastructure Research and Development at ControlCase from July 2015 to July 2019. In this role, they provided leadership and mentoring, promoted innovation and best practices for infrastructure and development, and worked on traditional and cloud architecture design and improvement.

Brent's previous experience includes working as a Software Architect at Keek.com, where they were part of the back-end team supporting a social media video application with millions of users worldwide. Brent also worked as a Consultant in their own company, Ashley IT Services, for more than 15 years, providing infrastructure, development, and operations consulting to various clients ranging from small businesses to global enterprises. Additionally, Brent worked as a Senior Consultant at Teva Pharmaceuticals, collaborating with project teams to automate document management workflows and develop custom ETL frameworks.

Brent's earlier roles include being a Co-Founder, Senior Developer, and Infrastructure Lead at KnowledgeWorx Inc., where they built customer-facing WiFi networks for McDonald's Canada locations. Brent also worked at TLC Laser Eye Centers as a Senior Consultant and Analyst, where they developed enterprise CRM systems and contributed to the pioneering of AJAX techniques.

In addition to their work experience, Brent has also been involved in speaking engagements, article writing, and technical reviewing in the field of technology. Brent has spoken at conferences like AjaxExperience.com and has contributed to books such as "Kibana Essentials" and "Enterprise Ajax".

Brent Ashley attended Thornhill Secondary School from 1973 to 1979, where they received an Honours Graduation Diploma. Following their high school education, from 1979 to 1982, they pursued Electronics Engineering Technology (Computer Option) at Ryerson University.
