Andrew Shapiro

Andrew Shapiro is an advisor at ThinkOrbital. Andrew was previously a manager at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from May 2016 to June 2021, where they were responsible for a broad portfolio of new spacecraft technologies. Prior to that, they were the manager of the Early Stage Innovation and Division Chief Technologist from June 2002 to May 2016, where they were responsible for all division research and technology activities, including strategic technology planning and proposal review. Andrew has also been a Principal Engineer responsible for research and development of a variety of electronic and optical packages for a number of space missions with extreme environments.

Andrew Shapiro has a PhD in Materials Science from UC Irvine, an MS in Materials Science from UCLA, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley.
