Carl Tyson has held a variety of roles in the education industry since 1985. Carl'scareer began at Scott Foresman, where they served as Vice President Sales and Marketing--College from 1985 to 1988. Carl then moved to McGraw-Hill, where they held two positions: President College Division and Vice President Sales and Marketing--College from 1988 to 1992. Tyson then moved to Harcourt, where they served as President College Division from 1992 to 1995. After that, they became COO at VCampus Corporation from 1995 to 1999. Finally, they were CEO at Thinkwell from 1999 to the present.

Carl Tyson began their education journey in 1967 when they attended Wichita State University and obtained a BA in History and American Studies in 1971. Carl then continued their studies at Wichita State University, graduating with an MA in History in 1973. Finally, they attended Oklahoma State University and obtained a Ph.D in History in 1975.
