Eric Mann has worked in a variety of roles since 2004. Eric began their career as a Software Engineer at National Instruments, where they managed the financial and functional success of automated test software products in partnership with sales and R&D, as well as providing customer support for test and measurement software development. In 2007, they became an Independent Contractor at Education Service Center Region 13, where they developed classroom activities and software tools using NI LabVIEW for high school STEM programs. In 2010, they began working as an Independent Contractor at Thinkwell, responding to errata submitted by users of online calculus curriculum, aligning the content of a popular calculus textbook with online curriculum, and reviewing a Pre-calculus textbook. In 2013, they became an Independent Contractor Author at Sapling Learning. From 2006 to 2016, they worked at Headwaters (formerly The Khabele School) as the Head of High School and Math Teacher, managing a $500,000+ annual budget, 17 faculty members, 5 support staff members, over 18+ substitute teachers, and 10,000+ square feet of facilities space. Eric also led weekly high school faculty meetings, facilitated 360° evaluation system, monitored campus-wide safety, and managed and resolved conflict through direct communication. In 2016, they began working as a Mathematics Teacher at Long-View Micro School, where they guided elementary and middle school students in learning mathematics and led educators to develop themselves as mathematical thinkers and as agents of change in mathematics education. Eric also became a Math Education Consultant and Computer Science Teacher at The Number Lab and an Assessment Engineer at Thinkwell.
Eric Mann received their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Aquinas College - Grand Rapids in 1996. Eric then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee Space Institute in 2004.
