Matthew Sloyer

Matthew Sloyer is a skilled professional with extensive experience in research and analytical chemistry. Currently serving as a Research Associate II at Thintronics® since May 2024, Matthew develops and executes test methodologies for the physical characterization of thin films, while also leading quality control testing and data collection. Previously, Matthew held positions as Senior Technician in Characterization & Lab Quality at Carbon from July 2021 to February 2025, where responsibilities included acting as the point of contact for material characterization and conducting various physical tests for formulation decisions. Matthew's earlier experience includes working as an Analytical Chemist at Quality Chemical Laboratories and as a Cellar Hand at Grandfather Mountain Vineyard and Winery, where skills in vineyard management and wine production analysis were developed. Matthew's career began as a Sales and Service Associate at Trek Bicycles of Raleigh. Matthew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fermentation Science from Appalachian State University.
