Third Age Learning York Region (TALYR) is a federally registered (Canada), nonprofit organization offering intellectually engaging lectures and webinars for retired and semi-retired adults across York Region.

Our annual season runs across three series: Online presentations (via Zoom currently) in the Winter and Fall, and in-person lectures (in Aurora) in the Spring. Our programs explore science, history, social issues, current affairs, the arts, culture, and many other topics for people who love learning and ideas.

As a small, entirely volunteer-driven organization with no paid staff, our Board and committee members are the engine that drives the Mission. We are proud of the strong response our programs receive from members, but we believe TALYR has the potential to reach many more curious adults across York Region.

Accordingly, we are always seeking new volunteers who can bring fresh energy, practical skills, and curiosity to a successful community organization with room to grow. You do not need to be a current TALYR member to express interest. What matters most is an interest in lifelong learning and a willingness to contribute in a practical, collegial way.
