Most geopolitical analysis is produced by Western institutions, through Western frameworks, for Western policy purposes. The perspectives of the states and societies being analysed are largely absent. Third Institute exists to correct that imbalance.

We are a student-led international research and analysis network. Our monthly flagship briefing and weekly analysis notes are written by university students and young professionals with direct regional knowledge across seven regions: South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America.
We publish analysis, not opinion and not commentary — for anyone whose existing information diet is geographically narrower than the world they are trying to understand.
