Stephen Burns

Stephen Burns is a retired professional with extensive experience in administrative and regulatory processes, particularly in nuclear regulation both in the United States and internationally. They served as a Commissioner and Chairman at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from 2014 to 2019 and were the Head of Legal Affairs at the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency from 2012 to 2014. Currently, Burns is a Senior Visiting Fellow at Third Way and a Board Member at Radiant, while also contributing to Fermi Energia's Advisory Board on Small Modular Reactor deployment. They hold a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a B.A. from Colgate University.
