Amil Shanaka

Amil Shanaka has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Amil currently works as a Software Engineer at Thirdfort Limited, where they contribute to the app-based solution used by law firms for client ID verification and source of funds checks. Prior to this, they worked as a Data Analyst at Dockflow. In 2019, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Persistent Systems, where they developed and managed control systems for clients such as Vodafone and IBM. Amil also worked as a Software Engineer at ShipXpress, a GE Transportation company, where they contributed to backend development and introduced deployment pipelines. Amil began their career as a Software Engineering Intern at WSO2, where they participated in the Agile Scrum process and was involved in designing, developing, testing, and deploying software products.

Amil Shanaka completed their high school education at Rahula College from 2002 to 2009, focusing on Physical Sciences. In 2013, they enrolled at the University of Moratuwa, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering, completing it in 2017. During that same year, they also obtained a Diploma in Business Management from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM - Sri Lanka), specializing in Business and Management.

Furthermore, Amil Shanaka has acquired several additional certifications. In 2015, they completed the Android Fundamentals Course by Study Jams offered by Google Developers. Amil also obtained certificates of completion for JavaScript Basics and HTML Fundamentals from SoloLearn in the same year. In 2018, they obtained certifications as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from GoodAgile and from the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL - Southern Centre).
