Robert Shaughnessy has held a variety of roles in the past 13 years. In 2008, they began their career as a Research Assistant at the Darden School of Business. Robert then worked as an Associate at the Business Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics and an Independent Consultant at American Infrastructure Capital in 2009. In 2011, they became an Operations Supervisor at McMaster-Carr, where they implemented protection strategies for frequently damaged items, related to a 10% reduction in shipping credits. Robert also worked as a Part-Time Research Analyst at Wahoo Capital in 2011. In 2015, they became a Plant Manager at Nuts.com, where they managed as many as 9 direct and 110 indirect reports across food manufacturing, packaging, and distribution departments. In 2017, they became the Head of Logistics at Nuts.com, where they managed 3 DCs that fulfilled 45% of company orders. In 2020, they became the General Manager at Bowery Farming, where they launched the flagship plant in Baltimore, MD. Robert led as many as 10 direct and 150 indirect reports across manufacturing, packaging, and distribution, and science. In 2022, they became the Director of East Coast Operations at Thistle.

Robert Shaughnessy obtained their High School degree from Princeton High School between 2004 and 2008. Robert then went on to obtain their Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Virginia between 2008 and 2010. Following that, they obtained their Master's degree in Finance from the University of Virginia in 2011.
