Sarah Munro has worked as a software engineer for the past five years. Sarah is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Thistle, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Conversa Health from 2017 to 2021 and a Software Engineer at Covalent Data from 2016 to 2017. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Software Engineer at Goodreads.com, where they acted as Engineering Team Lead for the Community Features Team, directed sprint and roadmap planning, headed architectural design, managed the EC2 fleet, and coordinated project timelines with internal and external stakeholders. Sarah was also the Engineering Lead for Rating and Recommendations integration with Kindle iOS and Goodreads Fire apps. Prior to this, Sarah worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at UC Berkeley from 2008 to 2012, where they developed cognitive testing applications in VB6, MATLAB, E-Prime, and Presentation, and conducted multivariate data analysis on behavioral and neuroimaging data. Sarah was also an instructor for Berkeley’s graduate and undergraduate neuroanatomy laboratory courses. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Lab Manager at the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at UBC, where they managed local and remote research technicians and acted as project manager for the lab’s research program, coordinating multi-site projects across the US and Canada. Sarah also developed cognitive testing applications using VB6 and Presentation.
Sarah Munro obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Cognitive Neuroscience from Brown University between 2001 and 2005. Sarah then went on to earn their Master's degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, Berkeley between 2008 and 2012.
