Thomas Cole Search is a specialist legal search firm advising international and US law firms across the full spectrum of private practice hires. We combine deep market knowledge with a direct, research-driven headhunting model, ensuring every approach is precise, relevant, and grounded in opportunities that align for lawyers and law firms.

With expertise built across London’s core practice areas, we understand the dynamics that shape high-performing legal teams. Our work is centred on long-term relationships, honest advice, and a commitment to protecting the reputation and ambitions of every lawyer we represent.

What sets us apart is our ability to align talented lawyers with strategic roles that strengthen and grow practices. We listen carefully to your objectives, apply fact-based market insight, and present opportunities that genuinely warrant consideration. The firms we work with rely on us for clarity, discretion, and a consistent standard of delivery.

While we leverage modern technology to streamline research and market mapping, our model remains relationship led. Every introduction requires trust, nuance, and strategic judgment, areas where we excel. When we reach out to a lawyer or a hiring team, it’s because the alignment is strong and the opportunity makes commercial sense.

We recruit across private practice fee-earning roles across the core practice areas shaping the legal market:

Corporate M&A & Private Equity
Tax
Project Finance & Development
Real Estate
Banking & Finance
Commercial (TMT & Data Protection)
Construction

Our sector knowledge spans Energy & Infrastructure, Technology, and Financial Services, ensuring our market understanding mirrors the sectors driving demand in global law firms.

We deliver a discreet, market-informed search experience built on accuracy, transparency, and results. For candidates and firms alike, our objective is simple: to create impactful, long-term placements that strengthen practices and advance careers.
