Derek Henry

Derek Henry has a long and varied work experience, beginning with a role as a Server, Trainer, and Head Waiter at Pappasito's (Pappas Restaurants, Inc.) from 1998. In 2003, they began working as a Senior Audit Associate at Grant Thornton LLP, where they worked on projects related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In 2008, they moved to First Cash Financial Services as an Assistant Controller, and in 2014 they joined GameStop as an Accounting Manager - Technology Brands, followed by Elevate as a Financial Controller. In 2016, they began working at Del Frisco's Restaurant Group as an Assistant Controller - SEC Reporting, and in 2017 they moved to Uncle Julio's Corporation as Controller. In 2019, they joined BlackLine as a Senior Solutions Consultant and in 2023 they began working as Practice Director - BlackLine at Sum Theory (formerly Thoth Solutions). Additionally, they founded Excelevate Consulting, LLC in 2017, where they serve as Owner and Lead Consultant.

Derek Henry obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Texas A&M University between 1999 and 2003. Derek also obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University between 1999 and 2003. In 2006, they obtained a CFE from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in November and a CPA from the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants in February.
