Matt Spraggs is an experienced engineer with a strong background in software development and system architecture. Currently a Security Engineer and former Back End Engineer at Thought Machine since August 2020, Matt specializes in Go development on Kubernetes using gRPC microservices and Postgres/CockroachDB, having led the design of JWT-based API authentication for Vault Core's public REST APIs. Previously, from April 2019 to July 2020, Matt worked as a Software Engineer at Plum Fintech, focusing on Python development with Flask and PostgreSQL. Matt’s experience includes a role as an Unmanned Systems Developer at L3 ASV, where C++ development was utilized for autonomous surface vehicles. Additionally, Matt contributed as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton on a project aimed at upper limb rehabilitation for stroke patients. Matt holds a PhD in Particle Physics from the University of Southampton and an MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham.
