Lindsey Handley

COO at ThoughtSTEM

Lindsey Handley is the current COO at ThoughtSTEM, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to that, they were the Co-Founder and Vice President at MetaCoders from January 2020 to September 2020. MetaCoders was a company dedicated to preparing students for the future by teaching them how to code and learn new programming languages. Unfortunately, their classes were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before their work at MetaCoders, Lindsey was a Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego from September 2010 to August 2015. There, they studied the protein dynamics of the thrombin-thrombomodulin interaction by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDXMS). Her advisor was Dr. Elizabeth Komives.

Lindsey's research career began as an undergraduate student at Trinity University, where they worked as a student researcher from June 2007 to July 2010.

Dr. Lindsey Handley received their PhD in Biochemistry from UC San Diego, their MS in Biochemistry from UC San Diego, and their BS in Chemistry from Trinity University. Lindsey also has certification from Coursera in Programming Languages, Part A, edX in How to Code: Complex Data (University of British Columbia), Coursera in Getting and Cleaning Data, Coursera in R Programming, and Coursera in The Data Scientist’s Toolbox.
