Omar Bashir

Omar Bashir is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and consulting, primarily within the financial services sector. Currently serving as Technical Director for Financial Services in the APAC region at Thoughtworks since January 2020, Omar has previously held similar roles focusing on technology solutions development across South East Asia and cloud migration and digital transformation initiatives. With a background that includes positions such as Associate Director of Software Engineering at IHS Markit and Development Lead at Morgan Stanley, Omar has demonstrated expertise in aligning technology strategies with business goals and driving innovation in complex environments. Educational credentials include a PhD in Performance Monitoring of Computer Networks and an MSc in Information Technology from Loughborough University, alongside a BE in Avionics Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology.
