Dan Drust has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Dan started their career as an AmeriCorps Coordinator at the Heart of West Michigan United Way in 2012, where they managed AmeriCorps programs and participated in planning for the expansion of reading programs. In 2013, they worked as a Program Coordinator at Hope Network, where they coordinated and supported AmeriCorps members serving as reading tutors. From 2014 to 2016, they served as the Family Literacy Program Manager at the Literacy Center of West Michigan, responsible for program operation and planning.
In 2016, Dan engaged in long-term travel and self-study of Spanish language learning and web development. Following that, they worked as a Web Developer at ProTrainings from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, they had a brief stint as a Contract Web Developer at Chews Life, before transitioning to the role of Software Developer at Elevator Up later that year. In 2019, they joined SPARK Business Works as a Software Developer, and in 2020 they moved on to become a Software Engineer at ThreeFlow, where they are currently employed. Throughout their career, Dan has gained experience in program management, web development, and software engineering.
Dan Drust received a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp in 2017. Prior to that, they studied Spanish Language at International House in Bogotá, Colombia in 2016. In 2012, Dan attended the American Express Leadership Academy, although the specific field of study is not provided. In 2011, they obtained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge ESOL. Finally, from 2008 to 2010, Dan studied Spanish Language and Literature at Grand Valley State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.
