Threshold is a supportive, recovery-oriented community for adults living with serious mental illness in Durham, NC. Since 1985, we’ve provided members with meaningful opportunities to advance their education, succeed at work, build healthy relationships, and improve their quality of life. Through structured, person-centered programs—including employment support, wellness activities, creative expression, and social engagement—members gain the skills and confidence needed to live more independently. 

At the heart of our mission are four guaranteed rights: a place to come, meaningful work, meaningful relationships, and a place to return.
