Marion Smith Jr.

Marion Smith Jr., EdD, is an experienced educator and leader with extensive roles including Chief Academic Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Academics in Saint Louis Public Schools. They founded Educate to Liberate Consulting, focusing on critical pedagogy and racial equity in education, and have served as a Superintendent of Schools in Summit School District, where they led innovative responses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Marion has held various academic positions, including faculty roles at City University of Seattle and Antioch University Seattle. Currently, they are the Chief Learning Officer at Thrively, dedicated to humanizing education through strengths-based learning.
