Christopher Smiley

Christopher Smiley, CFP®, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles. Christopher is currently a Market Director at Thrivent, where they provide leadership and coaching to financial advisors, aids in the development of their practices, and attracts new professionals to join the company. Prior to this, Christopher served in the United States Army Reserve, where they held roles such as Adjunct Instructor at the US Army Command and General Staff College and Operations Officer for the 209th Regional Support Group. Christopher also has experience in the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they served as a Team Chief and Executive Officer. Before transitioning into the financial industry, Christopher worked as a Company Commander and Executive Officer in the Army Engineer Company. Christopher began their professional career as a Motor Transport Operator in the 129th Transportation Company. Christopher previously worked as a Financial Advisor at AIG Retirement Services, specializing in group retirement plan services, and also had a role as a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones.

Christopher Smiley, CFP®, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, obtained between 2001 and 2007. Christopher also earned a Master of Arts in International Relations from Webster University, completed between 2007 and 2015. In 2021, they pursued a Financial Planning Program at Boston University's Center for Professional Education. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in 2020. Christopher Smiley has obtained several certifications, including being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, completing the Series 24 - General Securities Principal certification through FINRA, and obtaining the Series 66 - Uniform Combined State Law Exam and Series 7 - General Securities Representative certifications in 2012.
