Derek King

Derek King has been working in the software engineering field since 2016. In 2017, they were a Software Development Contractor at Akorbi, where they were tasked with a large scale migration of sales contact information using Java, REST, and the Hubspot API. Derek employed the Test Driven Development programming process to ensure the databases were migrated as expected. In 2019, they were a Software Engineer at Power Costs, Inc. (PCI), where they designed and developed data visualizations for the dashboard utilizing React, implemented a RESTful API supporting the visualization dashboard, and applied industry standard practices such as unit tests, code review, git, and agile development methods. Also in 2019, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Haxiot, where they built a mobile app for provisioning devices using Flutter and designed and implemented an accompanying web app for provision and configuring devices using AngularJS. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Full Stack Engineer at Thru, where they are migrating the front end application from .NET Blazor to React and developing a RESTful API to support the React application.

Derek King attended the University of Oklahoma from 2017 to 2021 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
