Don Smyth

Don Smyth has over 15 years of experience in software engineering, software architecture, and engineering management. In 2019, they served as Chief Software Architect for ThruWave Inc. From 2017 to 2019, they served as Software Engineering for Alitheon, an early stage Computer Vision startup. From 2016 to 2017, they served as Sr. Director of IoT Engineering for WallyLabs LLC and Sr. Principal Engineer for Spaceflight Industries. In 2015, they served as Principal Engineer for WallyLabs LLC. From 2012 to 2015, they served as Chief Architect, Director of Software Engineering, and Chief Firmware Architect for SNUPI Technologies. From 2009 to 2012, they served as Software Engineering Manager/Program Manager for ARRIS. In 2006, they served as Manager of System Services for Digeo, Inc. and Solutions Architect for Iditarod Systems. In 2004, they served as Engineering Director for Extraordinary Networks.

Don Smyth received their MBA in Management of Technology from Simon Fraser University between 2004 and 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a BASc in Electrical Engineering from The University of British Columbia between 1983 and 1988. In 2018, they also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera.
