Gideon Smith

Gideon Smith is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in corporate finance and strategic management. Currently serving as Financial Director at Thungela since June 2021, Gideon previously held various senior roles at Anglo American from February 2012 to June 2021, including CFO Coal SA and Head of Corporate Finance South Africa. Prior experience includes leading Risk & Assurance at Anglo Platinum and working as a Senior Manager at KPMG Advisory. Gideon also served as CEO of Cura Software Solutions. Academic qualifications include a B.Com (Hons) in Accounting and a B.Com in Accounting, both from the University of Johannesburg.
